College Football: The 3 best games to watch this weekend!

With three top-25 matchups on tap this weekend, there is plenty to look forward to in college football here in Week 3!

College Football: College Gameday heads to Happy Valley, PA, the Florida Gators get a crack at revenge, and can Arizona State earn Herm Edwards a statement win over BYU in Provo?

Let’s dive right in!

#1 Alabama (-15.5) @ #11 Florida – 3:30 EST

A rematch of the highly entertaining SEC Championship game should once again deliver Saturday afternoon.

The two powerhouses combined for 98 points in December, and even though both lost their starting QB’s to the NFL Draft, we should see some fireworks once again.

Bama has won the last seven meetings between the two and has not played in The Swamp since 2011, which should have the Gators plenty motivated.

Florida’s passing game is nowhere near where it was a year ago with Kyle Trask, but its run-game could cause the Crimson Tide problems with Christopher Allen out injured and Will Anderson Jr. listed as day-to-day after suffering a knock on his knee against Mercer.

UF coach Dan Mullen has utilized two quarterbacks in the first two games of the season. Both Emory Jones and Anthony Richardson have played significant time, but Richardson is questionable with a lingering hamstring problem.

If he is healthy, his scrambling ability could cause Bama problems as we have seen in the past.

#19 Arizona State (-3.5) @ #23 BYU – 10:15 EST

BYU got a huge win over rivals Utah last week and will host one of the biggest games of the season at LaVell Edwards Stadium Saturday night.

ASU has easily dispatched of Southern Utah and UNLV its first two weeks scoring 78 points while averaging 443 total yards of offense.

Sun Devils QB Jayden Daniels leads the team in rushing yards and has looked good in his second season as the starter, but can he break down the impressive BYU defense?

The Cougars held Arizona to 16 in its first game and held Utah to 17 last week.

If you are looking for some exciting late-night action, look no further than this one!

#10 Penn State (-6) vs. #25 Auburn – 7:30 EST

We love a good out-of-conference battle and this is one of the best we will see all season!

I thought that game might have been Georgia – Clemson in Week 1, but I think we can lock it in that these two will combine to score more than 13 points!

Auburn quarterback Bo Nix is looking for a statement win to kick off his junior year after underperforming and underdelivering in his first two years as a starter.

If it’s anything to go on, Auburn has dropped 60 in its first two, but those wins have come against Akron and Alabama State.

Meanwhile, Penn State got a great test at Wisconsin and pulled out a gutsy win with a couple of late defensive stops. Happy Valley back at full capacity with each and every fan decked out in white should be a joy to see!

Head coach James Franklin loves having the Nittny Lion faithful behind the squad and this should be a phenomenal game.
